HE'S RUNNING IN HIS SLEEP

He's running in his sleep

Sometimes he leaps right out of bed

Sometimes he talks out loud, sometimes he shouts

But he'll never tell you what it's all about

Some kind of memory that he's locked away

That he'll never let into the light of day

But he'll close his eyes and then

It will come back again

And all that he can do is run, run, run

He's running in his sleep

Sometimes he leaps right out of bed

Someone is chasing him, I wonder who

Makes you twist the sheets the way you do

Will he get you, will you get home free

There's no use praying on your rosary

'Cause you'll close your eyes and then

It will come back again

And all that you can do is run, run, run

And you go running down that corridor like it was yesterday

Do you forgive them Lord if they know what they've done

When they trapped a young boy in his room so long ago

But in his dreams at least he can run

And he runs, and he runs

And he's running in his sleep,

Sometimes he leaps right out of bed

And the one who did this

Does he sleep tonight

Thinking there's nothing wrong

With what he's done

Oh but you close your eyes and then

It will come back again

And all that you can do is run, run, run
