SLUG OPERA(2003)

Slugs, slugs slugs slugs...

Nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

Nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

But it's not our fault that we're slimy and brown

It's not our fault that we're stuck on the ground

It's not our fault that nobody wants to play

With the kind of bug that Mother Nature made this way

And nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

Nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

But it's not our fault there's slime wherever we go

It's not our fault -- we're embarrassed too you know

It's not our fault, but nobody seems to see

That we're the kind of bug that's got personality

But nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

Nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

But when the moon is clear and the night is right

We grow little feet and we dance all night

"Yes, I bet you didn't  realize that slugs, in fact, love to dance, and they have a special spot in every little slug heart for boogie-woogie music.  You will find them in every little boogie-woogie club, down in the corner, their tiny little table, a little Tam over their tiny little one eye, sipping strawberry margaritas ('hold her softly'.)  Yes, and if you happen to hear on some night in the middle of your garden a fabulous little boogie-woogie combo, the slugs are out..."

We got a little slug singer

She's got a little slug song

We got a little slug band

They're playing all night long

Well our skins turns blue

And we lose our slime

And some of us even sparkle

Some of the time

But at the first sight of sun, they disappear

And we're back to being slimy and brown way down here

And nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs

Nobody likes us 'cause we're slugs

No, they're not fond of us like they are of other bugs
